Jurassic World Rebirth – From Collider
A fresh chapter in the Jurassic saga is on the horizon, and it’s bringing some serious star power along for the ride. Collider recently dropped an exclusive sneak peek at Jurassic World Rebirth, showcasing Scarlett Johansson and Rupert Friend in a tense, waterlogged moment that promises to kick off the next wave of dinosaur-fueled mayhem. Directed by Gareth Edwards, known for his gritty take on Rogue One, this installment is gearing up to shake things up when it hits theaters on July 2, 2025.

In the image, Johansson’s character, Zora Bennett, exudes a calm, almost effortless confidence as she navigates what looks like a perilous situation. She’s a covert ops specialist tasked with leading a crack team on a high-stakes mission, and judging by her steely demeanor, she’s no stranger to danger. Beside her, Friend’s Martin Krebs, a jittery pharmaceutical rep appears to be in over his head, his expression hinting at someone who’d rather be anywhere else than facing down prehistoric predators. The contrast between the two is striking: Zora’s cool-headed resolve against Martin’s palpable unease sets the stage for what could be a dynamic duo—or a recipe for disaster.
Set five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, Rebirth picks up in a world where dinosaurs are clinging to survival in isolated tropical pockets. Most ecosystems can’t support these ancient beasts anymore, but their DNA holds the key to a medical game-changer that could reshape humanity. Zora’s mission? Lead her elite squad into a forgotten island research facility straight out of the original Jurassic Park playbook, to snag genetic material from the last of these creatures. Naturally, things won’t go smoothly, and that’s where the real fun begins.

The screenplay comes from David Koepp, the writer who launched the franchise with Jurassic Park back in 1993. He’s blending pulse-pounding action with a dash of survival horror and sci-fi wonder, aiming to recapture the magic that made the original such a juggernaut. Alongside Johansson and Friend, the cast boasts heavy hitters like Mahershala Ali as Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s right-hand man, and Jonathan Bailey as Dr. Henry Loomis, a rugged paleontologist. More additions are Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as a stranded father, plus Luna Blaise, David Iacono, and Audrina Miranda as his kids, with Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein filling out the rival team ranks.

This franchise will never die because dinosaurs will never not be awesome. From the original Jurassic Park films with such an amazing crew, then to Jurassic World’s movies with with Chris Pratt helming these iconic films, to now Scarlett Johansson being the new leader of the pact. We are going to see a lot more dinosaurs on the big screen and a lot more of Scarlett Johansson for the next saga of the franchise and many fans are very happy with that.
After Dominion wrapped up the last trilogy with a hefty dose of nostalgia, Rebirth feels like a bold pivot—a chance to explore uncharted territory with a fresh crew. With Johansson and Friend leading the charge, and not to mention, Edwards, this summer blockbuster might just remind us why we fell in love with dinosaurs on the big screen in the first place. Keep an eye out for more previews as we count down to July, because surely we will see exciting new teasers to keep fans enticed.
