Collider – Mortal Kombat II
  • A Fan-Favorite Returns: Noob Saibot, portrayed by Joe Taslim, makes his chilling comeback after his death as Bi-Han/Sub-Zero in the 2021 Mortal Kombat film. The character’s transformation into the shadowy wraith from the Netherrealm is a pivotal moment, setting the stage for a revenge-driven arc against his old rival, Scorpion (Hiroyuki Sanada).
  • Rooted in Game Lore: Named by reversing the last names of Mortal Kombat creators Ed Boon and John Tobias, Noob Saibot has been a staple since his debut as a secret character in Mortal Kombat II (1993). His evolution into a distinct figure with a haunting, shadow-clone ability is faithfully adapted for the film.
  • A Visual Homage: The exclusive image reveals Noob Saibot’s eerie, empty-eyed look, drawing heavy inspiration from the Khaos Reigns expansion of Mortal Kombat 1. His design blends the traditional Lin Kuei ninja aesthetic with a dark, otherworldly twist, reflecting his rebirth in the Netherrealm.

Many fans are happy(for the most part) with how everything is looking for Mortal Kombat II. There are characters who don’t feel like they accurately portray, the beloved icons in this franchise from the video game. However, overall fans are excited for this film. You can catch Noob Saibot out for revenge on October 24, 2025.
