Hayley Atwell is reportedly set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the next two Avengers movies.
Hayley Atwell has been a part of the MCU since the very beginning, debuting in Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011, as Steve Rogers’ love interest. Since her debut, she has appeared in many projects in the MCU such as Captain America Civil War, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, as a variant, Captain Carter, and she has voiced her character Captain Carter in Marvel’s What If animated series. Recent rumors talked of Hayley Atwell’s return, but now it’s reportedly official.

In a new article by THR about the top 100 powerful Hollywood attorneys, Hayley Atwell’s return has been confirmed. On their list of top 100 powerful Hollywood attorneys is Julian Zaifen, who helped secure Hayley Atwell’s deal to return. The article states Julian helped negotiate deals for many actors like Dick Wolf, Eddie Murphy and more, but then states Julian helped Hayley Atwell in her deal to star in Marvel’s Avengers 5 and 6.

Captain America: The First Avenger
Now that Hayley Atwell is set to return in Avengers 5 (Doomsday) and 6 (Secret Wars) the big question is, who will she be playing? Will we see the return of her as a variant Captain Carter? Or will she return as a normal, non-super soldier serum enhanced Peggy Carter? According to a report from The Wrap, Chris Evans is returning to star in Avengers Doomsday as well. Could we see Peggy Carter and Steve Rogers unite once more as variants in the next Avengers movie?
Avengers Doomsday is set to hit theaters May 1, 2026.
