The wizarding world is back! HBO’s highly anticipated Harry Potter TV series has officially begun production at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the UK, nearly 14 years after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 wrapped up the iconic film franchise. With a fresh cast, a visionary creative team, and a promise to dive deep into J.K. Rowling’s beloved books, this series is set to enchant both new fans and longtime Potterheads. Today we got our magical first look at Harry Potter played by Dominic McLaughlin.
The First Look
Dominic McLaughlin shocks all muggles and magic born alike with this iconic first look. Fans are loving how he is looking, with few not liking him playing this character. It will be a very hard thing to do, to live up to the shoes of Daniel Radcliffe especially his kid years starting in the franchise. When everyone will compare these two with almost every move it is hard to imagine what Dominic is going though. We won’t judge a book by its cover as whoever did that missed out on the amazing Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling. The iconic scar is present and it is a present to many of us Harry Potter fans out here in the muggle world.

Production Begins: A New Chapter for Hogwarts
Filming for the Harry Potter series is underway, marking a significant milestone for the project first announced in April 2023. The series, which aims to adapt each of Rowling’s seven books into a full season, kicked off with a first-look image of Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, sporting the character’s iconic round glasses and Gryffindor uniform. This glimpse has already sparked excitement, offering fans a taste of the fresh yet faithful take on the wizarding world.

- Production Timeline: Season 1 filming is expected to continue through spring 2026, with Season 2 slated to begin shortly after a brief hiatus.
- Release Expectations: The series is targeting a 2027 premiere on HBO and Max, promising a decade-long journey through the wizarding world.
Final Thoughts
This will hopefully be a series that will stay true to the books lore while adding a fresh dose of magic in our veins. From what we have seen to leaks of the set and art for the show, Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton, and Alastair Stout have our hearts. Let us all wish for a great TV series like no other.
