Channing Tatum Will Be In A “Big Fight” With Doom In Avengers Doomsday

Channing Tatum "Big Fight" Happening In Avengers Doomsday With Gambit

Tatum is thrilled to bring back Remy LeBeau, the sly Cajun card thrower from the X-Men, after a cameo in last year’s “Deadpool & Wolverine.” A standalone Gambit movie tanked back in 2019 post Disney’s Fox buyout, but Tatum sees it as a dodged bullet, saying, “The universe just saved us. We would have failed so hard.” Now, under directors Anthony and Joe Russo, he’s infusing the character with laughter but also seriousness, and not so off tame as “deadpool”. In an interview with Variety he speaks on how his character is involved in a ‘big fight’ with Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.

  • The Focus: In this interview, the “Roofman” is at the forefront of this conversation and Avengers Doomsday being on the back end.
  • Big Fight: He did not elaborate, when Tatum said “we had tons more shooting…” including a “big fight” with RDJ as Doom.
  • Stunt Double Steps In: Tatum was hurt on set, specifically his leg, so his stunt double carried the bulk of the work after the accident

It seems things are ramping up for Avengers: Doomsday, as more and more of the cast wraps filming. Channing Tatum’s Gambit will play more of a serious side this time around in Doomsday, since he was instructed to do so by the Russo brothers. We will have to see how that big fight plays out December 18, 2026.
