Marvel Studios Eyes of Wakanda Official Trailer Released

Marvel Studios has just dropped their first trailer for the Eyes of Wakanda, an animated series set to expand the rich lore of the Black Panther universe. Premiering exclusively on Disney+ on August 1, 2025, this four-episode anthology is set to show us a globe-spanning adventure that unearths the untold stories of Wakanda’s fiercest warriors, the Hatut Zaraze.

Eyes of Wakanda will explore the untold stories of Wakanda’s warriors, specifically the Hatut Zeraze, the nation’s covert operatives, as they undertake missions across different eras.

  • Historical Scope: The series spans thousands of years, starting as far back as 1260 BC, offering a unique look at how Wakanda’s advanced culture has shaped and interacted with the world while remaining hidden. Creator Todd Harris describes Wakandans as “futuristic, Star Trek-level Africans who bounce through time,” emphasizing their advanced technology and enduring cultural identity.
  • Anthology Format: Each of the four episodes will focus on a distinct time period, weaving standalone stories that collectively form a larger narrative about Wakanda’s global influence. This “anthology-adjacent” approach allows for diverse storytelling while maintaining a cohesive thread tied to the Black Panther legacy.
  • Inspired by Real History: The series draws inspiration from historical events and cultures, notably the Sea Peoples, a mysterious group of Bronze Age raiders who disrupted Mediterranean civilizations around 1200 BC. Ryan Coogler suggested incorporating these raiders, reimagining them as Wakandans wielding Vibranium technology, creating a dynamic “what-if” scenario, as Todd Harris opens up about this series with Empire

In Eyes of Wakanda we see their warriors who have reshaped the past, and now we will see many of those moments brought to light on August 1, this Friday. The series promises to honor Chadwick Boseman’s legacy while introducing new/old heroes that have not been seen in the MCU.
