On July 17, 2025, the official X account for Mortal Kombat Movie dropped a thrilling bombshell with the release of the Mortal Kombat II official trailer. Set to hit theaters and IMAX on October 24, 2025, this sequel promises to deliver jaw-dropping action, beloved characters, and a storyline revolving around Johnny Cage. We see plenty of Mortal Kombat legends throughout this trailer.

The Mortal Kombat II trailer wastes no time diving into the heart of the interdimensional tournament, where Earthrealm’s warriors battle Outworld’s forces to save humanity. Unlike the 2021 film’s setup-heavy narrative, this sequel focuses on the tournament itself, delivering the visceral action fans craved. Here’s what stands out:

Johnny Cage The Washed Up Actor: Karl Urban’s Johnny Cage kicks off the trailer in a bar with a fan recognizing him. A quick cut to his fictional ‘90s action flick Uncaged Fury—a clever marketing teaser—sets up his washed-up Hollywood star persona before he’s thrust into the Mortal Kombat fray out in the a parking garage.

Scorpion vs. Noob Saibot: Hiroyuki Sanada’s Scorpion faces off against Joe Taslim’s Noob Saibot in a fiery showdown. We get to see one of the most iconic lines “Get Over Here” from Scorpion giving us a perfect taste of his finishing move.

Kitana’s Fan Fury: Adeline Rudolph’s Kitana wields her steel fans with deadly precision, as she shows Johnny just how deadly her fans can be.

Shao Kahn’s Menace: Martyn Ford’s towering Shao Kahn looms over the arena with his presence, we are sure to get a lot of him within this film and even got his “FINISH HIM” within this trailer.
